Volunteer Opportunities in DC
The core mission of the American Graduate DC initiative is to help our local community find solutions to address the dropout crisis. Individuals and local organizations can do a lot to support kids and keep them on the path to high school graduation. Here are a few things you can do here in DC to make a difference:
- Learn more about dropout prevention and stay informed on local youth and education issues
- Make school come alive for teens by connecting what they’re learning to real careers
- Become a mentor or tutor
- Start a job apprenticeship for students
- Volunteer at a DC school at least once a month
- Support an afterschool program that keeps kids safe and helps them learn
